Online Marketing

Every day millions of people use the internet just to chat.  Chatting is rated as one of the most popular internet activities today, as once you begin chatting, you’re likely to become addicted to it. On average an online “chatter” logs on at least once a day to chat.  There is no crystal clear understanding why people are so attracted to this method of communication, but there are lessons to be learned by their behavior. You can take advantage of this chat “addiction” to increase site traffic to your website. 2 Ways To Use Chatting To Increase Site Traffic.

One requires less time to get started, but more maintenance time by you.  The other is the reverse, a longer startup time, but less maintenance thereafter. Consider these ideas and begin implementing chatting to drive targeted web traffic to your website instantly.

1. Free Web Site Traffic by “Chat Advertising”

If chatting appeals to you then you can certainly dedicate a few hours a day delivering “adverts” to chatters.  This involves visiting chat rooms with the intention of posting your website link into the chat. This can be done at random, visiting a chat room, posting your link without prompts from other chatters, then leaving and moving on to another room.  This approach allows you to reach the largest audience of chatters.  The best way to achieve this is to join rooms that are related to your website and its content, thereby driving targeted web traffic.

We all need traffic to our websites, and preferably the organic variety.  (i.e Traffic derived from people searching on the search engines )  Some of us are aware that the majority of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) practices take some time to take affect.

Organic traffic

Getting it can be complex and enduring, and it’s influenced by some different factors, including:

  • The existing optimization of your website
  • The age of your domain and,
  • Your skill in working with these

There are ways however, to get SEO results that you can start now that will make a big improvement.

Here are 5 SEO Resource areas to work on so you can start seeing (at least) a small increase in the website traffic.

1. Keyword Basics:

Do your research – this is most important.

Free tools and services at your disposal such as the Google external keyword tool (search for this on google it will pop straight to the top).  Once you’re up to speed with that move into the paid (more advanced) programs and tools out there. Keyword density is a thing of the past, there is no density you should be shooting for. Natural inclusion of your targeted keywords is today’s emphasis, working them in wherever possible without being artificial or excessive.

Hint: The quickest results can be made by targeting a larger number of terms that have a lower level of competition.

2. Make Great URLS:

There are many steps that go into making great URLs. Start from picking a domain name that is memorable, short and includes your main keyword.  Whilst hyphens are ok, remember though more than two begins to get spam-like and excessive.

For your individual page name(s), include a relevant keyword, so that each URL looks something like;
www.your-keyword.com/targeted-page-keyword.html.  When possible, avoid using dynamic page variables like session IDs.

These add a lot of unnecessary junk to your page URLs.

Hint: If you already have a site and can’t adjust the page structure to use keywords in it’s URLs, then you may want to consider
buying additional domains ( to create mini sites) to support various areas within your niche. These mini sites will drive traffic to your main site.

Youtube,online advertising

Online social media is place where most of the western world now hangs out. YouTube is the world’s second most trafficked website.  It follows that this represents a huge opportunity for marketing, much like television did back the middle of the 20th Century.  There are however a few things to know when venturing into this space.
Here are 5 essential facts to understand about advertising on YouTube

Youtube Fact 1:

YouTube is not limited to short-form user-generated content. Thousands of premium content partners, from Sony to Disney to Universal Music, and fans can find hundreds of full-length feature films and thousands of full-length TV episodes on YouTube.  The world premiere of Joy Luck Club director Wayne Wang’s film, “The Princess of Nebraska,” was viewed 165,000+ times during the first 48 hours — the equivalent of landing the 15th spot on the Hollywood box office charts.
